Each of my paintings feels like a journal entry – a personal exploration that goes far beyond the surface. When I begin a new work, I often start with a sense of familiarity, an understanding of the character or the scene I’m about to depict. But as I paint, the story begins to shift. The more layers I add, the more the piece evolves. What begins as a simple image turns into something more complex, revealing not only hidden insights from my subconscious but also universal truths. It’s as if the act of painting allows me to uncover parts of myself I didn’t know existed.
The act of creation is an invitation to explore. It is an invitation to dive deeper into our own psyches, to confront the unknown, and to trust that the process will lead us to a place of greater understanding. I have learned to trust that in time my tools will guide me toward truths that are not just personal but also shared by all.
