Thérèse Légère is moved by the enchanting and inspiring Napa Valley of California. Seeing through the artist’s eye; she is documenting the colors, textures and light of the vineyards and mountains in her oil paintings. Her painting technique is initially Impressionist followed by drawing out certain contours. This process creates a stain glass effect that enhances the colors and light.
Thérèse Légère’s personal journey as an artist began in her childhood. Born in Montréal, Québec; she grew up in the Richelieu Valley, fertile with famous Québecois artists. Légère went on to study Fine Arts at the Collège St-Laurent in Montréal. She was strongly influenced and formed by Jean Lefébure; a student and artist of the Montréal Automatiste movement in the fifties.
She has developed colorful Impressionist oil paintings, Intuitive Abstract Art, and created an Angels series. Twice, she produced over 100 pieces of art yearly in numerous varying sizes, media, and techniques.
She has exhibited in many solo and group exhibitions in the Napa Valley, CA and Pioneer Valley, MA.
