Dennis’ work is primarily representational and drawn from extensive world-wide travel and his ability to see objects and places in a distinctive way. He has an unique and honest language displaying a joyful creative perspective from the most familiar sites.
Having worked in the arts for over 30 years – first with drawing and then watercolors and acrylics – he is now enthusiastically embracing exciting new media and processes including oils and pastels.
Dennis R. Smith had a long and successful career as an architect in San Francisco prior to retiring to Napa to follow his passion. His studio is always open to visitors and other art enthusiasts.
