Ceramic has such a therapeutic effect, working with clay is supportive and demanding. I enjoy character and elegance, the creativity, mindfulness and the opportunity to carry desires and emotions in utilitarian objects that sprinkles our days with reminders of the banal and the exceptional. Envelopping celebration and nourishment.
Since the fires took our home and studio in St Helena in 2020, my artistic process is a reconciliation with fire and it’s positive aspect. I focus a lot on sustainability, reclaiming clay and using as little water as possible.
