I was born in Napa in the mid fifties. I grew up on one of the last cattle ranches up valley before wineries married tourism. The valley’s beauty was a trove of natural wonder. As a child I explored and observed this rich and varied beauty and became aware of its special purpose and influence in my life. On childhood outings there were usually some amazing discoveries I had yet to observe. This often holds true for me today.
My work includes field journaling, natural history and botanical art.I am seasoned in gardening, hiking, nature observations and conservation. In my perennial endeavors of living close with the outdoors, I strive to bring a viewer’s eye to the details and magnificence of nature.
My desire to establish conservation awareness and practices intersects with my field journaling, hiking, gardening and painting. My hope is that my works will inspire a visual homage to the amazing diversity of plants and their related habitat.
