Growing up in New Jersey, I had always wanted to paint – but there was always something to take me away from it. Skip ahead many years, married with children, I got involved in our church’s Holiday Bazaar – making (painting) items for sale. I started out just base coating items, and quickly progressed into designing them, painting country style farm scenes (in New York state). Upon moving to Napa 20+ years ago, I turned those farm scenes into vineyards. Most of my scenes are made up, but I have been known to put a known winery on one of my pieces. Recently I have started painting on wine barrel staves, which makes it more fun to do, but I also paint on canvas, shaker band boxes, walls, tables, chairs and other objects.
